Seek order and decency.
1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
The final instruction from the Bible regarding the confusion surrounding speaking in tongues is that everything is to be done decently and in order. The word “decent” means “to be honest; civilized; polite; respectable.” This is what God expects in contrast to the “dishonest, uncivilized, rude, and disrespectable” selfish use of speaking in tongues. The word “order” means “to be organized or regulated.” God expects an organized and regulated meeting in contrast to unorganized chaos. This series of articles on 1 Corinthians 14 should tell us God’s opinion regarding the misuse of tongues.
